Letter of Father to Daughter is our letter of the month for June. It speaks of a father’s wish for her daughter to live life to the fullest while trying to make the best choices that will define her future.

June 15,2013

To my Little Princess Sabrina,

You are still too young to read and comprehend the words in this letter. So in whichever stage of your life this letter finds you, always remember that this is my way of expressing how proud I am of you and that I will always be here to love and support you.

I remember last year in your first year in school when your preschool teacher informed your Mom and I that you chose “Arts and Crafts” club as your school club. That was the first time you made your very own choice. And since then, I knew that you will be destined for greatness and I committed to forever empower you to make your own choices in life.

Your choices will define your future. And whatever results you have created for yourself, happiness and contentment will still be your choice. So choose well.

Live life to the fullest and be happy with your choices. Choose that one thing in life that you are passionate about and put your heart in to it.

Never be afraid of committing mistakes. In fact, make lots of them while you are still young. Learn from them. They are the building blocks of wisdom.

Have FUN! Choose a career that you sincerely love and have a life outside of work. Sing and play music. Party. Be adventurous. See the world. Never forget to reward yourself even for the small successes that you create each day.

Always fuel your craving for learning. Read tons of books. Attend seminars and trainings. Be a perpetual student. Surround yourself with people you can learn greatness from. Investing in yourself is the best investment you will ever make.

Being a Dad is probably the most rewarding thing that ever happened to me. So get married and have kids. Find the man whom you will love and take care of and someone who will love you the way I love your Mom. Raise children who will create ripples of goodness in the society. Build a family that is rooted in values of Love and Trust. (Disclaimer: Do this at least after college, OK?)

And lastly, never forget to grateful for all the blessings that you have received by paying it forward. True success is in being the vehicle of success in the lives of other people. Give back, and you will be blessed a thousand fold.

I wish you all the happiness in the world, my Little Princess. And I hope that by the time you read this letter, you have already realized that the secret to happiness has always been with you. Be happy and be the source of happiness in the world that you create.

With all my love and support,

Dad

This sounds so much like Ben. :) I’m lucky to have met him in person, he’s such a good guy and now I realize an awesome Dad as well. :)

    • Teresa Martinez says:

Funny, that is exactly what I was thinking when I first read this letter. It was like Ben coaching and encouraging those who attend his seminars except this time the coaching and encouraging is directed to his daughter.

  4. Gven-Rose says:

ohh!that is a sweet letter.. as for my son, he always ask my opinion when it comes to decision making, i will be looking forward to the day he will decide for himself without asking my opinion

    • Teresa Martinez says:

It is always the parents’ pride once children show their independence and it is not too much to acknowledge the fact that the right upbringing has much to do with that.

  5. He sounds like a very loving and supportive Dad.

    • Teresa Martinez says:

I believe he is. That is why I was really interested in how a techy dad would write to his own child. Now I know they are no different from other loving dads.

  6. Dhemz says:

awwwwwwww…how cute! am pretty sure, she’ll appreciate it once she’s old enough to read this letter.

    • Teresa Martinez says:

She will I’m sure. Not everyone gets to read words of wisdom from their dads through a letter.

  7. So touching, I just wish to read a letter from my father too. Lovely!

    • Teresa Martinez says:

It would be nice to be able to read over and over again the reassuring words of parents even when children are all grown up.

So sweet and very inspiring letter.. I just missed my daughter ,,lol.. actually she’s in the school right now.. she’s on the 2nd grade.. very nice letter..

    • Teresa Martinez says:

Many dads (and moms) forget the value of giving inspiring words to their children and writing a letter is a nice way of doing that.

  9. Shela says:

Touching words! She will thank her dad for that someday!

    • Teresa Martinez says:

Yes, she will. I notice that most young young dads today make it a point to be really part of their children’s life and that’s good.

  10. it gives me goose bump while reading the letter…so sweet and I bet Sabrina will keep this letter forever :-) What a supportive Daddy she has :-)

    • Teresa Martinez says:

Yes, Daddy Ben here is like a one-man cheering squad rooting for his child to be the best she can be which is very heartwarming. I’m sure you wouldn’t guess that Ben here is very much into techy stuff and I’m sure glad to know that dads like him still love their children the old-fashioned way.

  19. Beautiful letter, well written and thought off.
Though I’m at a marrying age, I’m not a Dad yet. I certainly can’t fathom the feling of fatherhood, but rearing a child, helping them grow as they are to be part of this world is a blessing to watch over the years.

    • Teresa Martinez says:

You will have your time of understanding what it feels to be a father and by that time, I’m sure you will be able to write your own beautiful letter to your child.

  20. papaleng says:

A very heartfelt letter. Hope I can muster enough energy to write my ‘other’ daughter a similar letter, expressing how I wish to be a good father to her.
